History Project Ideas

History of immigration in the United States: It is always an interesting topic to study. Immigration has been a vital part of the USA since its foundation. The interesting thing with this is that the pattern of people coming to USA change with time. Initially, they were English, after that they were Europeans and now they are from Latin America, China, and India.

It would be interesting to find what causes that change?

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi :

Gandhi

A public figure who taught us the power of peace. He was a central figure of India Independence and he got this for India with peaceful demonstration and noncooperation movement.

Voting in America: The right to vote is a right of each and every American adult but it was not like that. There is a lot to study its history.

Black Sox scandal of 1919: This Scandal took place around and during the baseball world series. Eight players of the league were involved in throwing games.

Freedom Struggle of Different Countries :

Before the second world war, there was an imperialism system existed all over the world. There was an empire culture. After world war when these empires got weaker, many countries started to raise there voice against there occupation. They asked for complete freedom. You can choose the freedom movement from any of these types of countries as your history project.

World War 2 :

It itself a very interesting topic, you can research on that why it happened? What were the reasons that it was inevitable and things like that?

Cold War :

Why it happened? Its effect on the social-economic relations of nations? What were the decisions are taken by world leaders during that period and its effect on the world?

Civil engineering projects

Civil engineering projects
The Petronas Twin Towers, designed by architect Cesar Pelli and Thornton-Tomasetti and Ranhill Bersekutu Sdn Bhd engineers, was the world's tallest buildings from 1998 to 2004.
What is Civil Engineering?

Civil engineering is one of the most ancient branches whose glimpse has been visible from 4000 BC in Egypt and Mesopotamia. It mainly deals with the design and construction of a structure such as a road, dam or building, etc. Though it is one of the most ancient science, civil engineers require a great amount of knowledge and planning before starting any new project. They need knowledge of building things in coastal areas, areas where Earthquakes are common and many more things. In this post, I am giving details of some projects which I find useful for students.

Electrical engineering projects

Electrical engineering projects

Electrical engineering is a field of engineering that generally deals with the study and application of electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism.

LED lights

What is an LED?
In simple terms, LED is a light-emitting diode, which emits a photon(light) when electricity is passed through them.

LED lights

LED's of Light Emitting Diodes are the future of lights. When we pass current from semiconducting material doped with impurities to create a p-n junction, electrons meet photons and generate light. They are economical and very useful. The main advantage of LED lights is their lower energy consumption. I will take some real-life examples of LEDs to make your concepts more clear.

Mechanical Engineering Kinematics Project

In mechanical engineering, kinematics is a study of how object move. This object can be a car, a ball or a robot.

Solar Insect Robots: You can build an insect robot powered by solar as your project. It will help you to understand the concepts of both Robotics and Solar power.

CAD Project Ideas (Easy to Advanced) 60+ Models You Can Actually Finish

If you are learning CAD and you want project ideas, here is my honest take. Do not start with a random super complex engine assembly on day one. Start with a clean part, then a small assembly, then a mechanism. CAD skill builds like gym strength.

Below is a list I would personally use if I was starting again. It is grouped by difficulty and also by domain, so you can pick what matches your interest. Most ideas include what to model, what to show in your final submission, and how to make it look professional.

What to submit for any CAD project (so it looks serious)

  1. One clean 3D model with correct proportions
  2. Exploded view of the assembly, if it has parts
  3. One drawing sheet with dimensions and tolerances where needed
  4. A bill of materials for assemblies
  5. One simple render or animation

Photo style cheat sheets (you can copy to your report)

These are illustration panels that look like photos. I added them so students can quickly understand what a good CAD submission looks like. They load fast, work on mobile, and you do not need to download anything.

Cheat sheet 1: sketch to 3D part

Sketch to 3D part 1) Clean sketch Fully constrained 2) Features Extrude, fillet, holes 3) Clean look Name features properly

Cheat sheet 2: assembly, exploded view, BOM

Cheat sheet 3: one drawing sheet with key dimensions

How to pick the right CAD project (quick rules)

  1. If you are a beginner, pick something you can finish in one sitting and then make the drawing sheet perfect.
  2. If you know assemblies, pick a mechanism and show motion plus an exploded view.
  3. If you want to impress, do one small simulation or a tolerance focused drawing.
